About Us
The Banff Book Discussion is a non-profit society that is organized and run by book-loving volunteers. Each year we hold one event, which is the Banff Book Discussion Weekend (BBDW). The BBDW is held at the Banff Centre, usually on or about the last week in May. We discuss four books during the weekend, one on Friday evening, two on Saturday and one on Sunday Morning. We invite the author of one of our discussion books and discuss his/her book on Saturday morning. After the Saturday discussion we have a private presentation on the book.
Our Guest Author for 2026 was Thomas Trofimuk
Over the years we have enjoyed and been entertained by many accomplished authors. Below are some of our guest authors. Our Historical Book list 1961 – 2026 link (found in the footer) identify the authors who have attended our weekend over the last 65 years. This is an impressive group of Canadian Authors who have attended the Banff Book Discussion Weekend.
