About the Weekend – 2018

What a great thrill to have her join us in 2018!

The 57th Annual Banff Book Discussion  Weekend

The BBDW is being held at the Banff Centre from Friday evening to Sunday noon, June 1 – 3rd 2018.  During the weekend participants discuss four novels.  There is a discussion on Friday Evening, discussions on Saturday AM and Saturday PM and the guest author’s book is discussed on Sunday morning.  Elizabeth Hay will do a public reading on Saturday afternoon at the Banff Centre and she will be reading and answering  questions to our group on Sunday morning, after our break-out discussions on Alone in the Classroom.  The book selections for 2018 have been chosen to stimulate thought and  discussion and to appeal to adults.  The atmosphere is friendly and  informal.  There are no prerequisites for this program other than reading  the books before attending the discussions!  Social gatherings take place after the Friday and Saturday PM discussions.

Accommodation is available at the Banff  Centre or off-campus at the various B & B or hotels in the  area.
